Our story

Project Unicorn began with a simple but powerful belief: no good thing should ever go to waste.

It all started with one act of giving — a spare item, instead of gathering dust, found a new purpose in the hands of a charity that truly needed it. That spark lit a movement. What if every unused product, every overlooked service, could find a second life? What if generosity was made easy, and waste was turned into hope?

From that moment, Project Unicorn grew into something much bigger. Today, it’s a thriving platform where businesses, charities, and individuals come together to share resources, reduce waste, and create real, lasting impact.

Since launching, Project Unicorn has:

  • Rehomed surplus goods that might otherwise have been lost to landfill.

Project Unicorn connects individuals and businesses who have surplus products or services with charities that need them. Once you register and choose a membership plan, you can start listing your gifts (if you’re a donor) or browsing and requesting items (if you’re a charity). We make giving and receiving simple, fast, and rewarding for everyone involved.

Charities can register and access listings for free. For donors (our Unicorns), we offer a range of affordable membership plans designed to suit different needs — whether you’re donating occasionally or on a regular basis. Our goal is to make giving as accessible as possible.

Almost anything that could benefit a charity can be donated — from office equipment and furniture to professional services, event spaces, marketing support, and more. If it’s in good condition and could make a difference, it’s welcome at Project Unicorn!

Every charity that joins Project Unicorn is verified by our team to ensure they are a legitimate organisation doing real, meaningful work. We also encourage direct communication between donors and charities, so you can feel confident that your gift is making the right impact.

That’s absolutely fine! You can still register as a Unicorn, stay connected, and list items whenever you’re ready. Many of our members dip in and out depending on what they have available — every donation, big or small, makes a difference.
